Our crew isn’t a rotating cast of subcontractors. These are the same four people who show up to your door in Capitol Hill, Petworth, or Chevy Chase, wearing the same navy CleanRun uniforms they’ve been issued. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s that every one of us has had to sit across from a homeowner and explain why the $89 coupon they found online didn’t cover the second floor plenum (the main distribution box for your ductwork). Tomas Reyes, Owner & Lead Technician
I’ve been crawling through attics in Washington, DC since 2013, when I started CleanRun with a used Nikro negative-pressure extractor and a borrowed cargo van. Before that, I spent six years doing commercial HVAC install for a contractor out of Landover. I hold EPA Section 608 Universal certification and I’m the one who still personally handles every duct repair and sealing job that involves accessing the plenum or main trunk line. My knees sound like a bowl of Rice Krispies when I stand up. I mention this because it’s the reason I train our apprentice to do the register-level work I used to insist on handling myself. I live in Brookland with my wife and two kids who think ductwork is “boring but pays for soccer.”
Marcus T., Senior Installer & Duct Repair Specialist
Marcus joined us in 2017 after eight years with a mechanical contractor that did a lot of the federal building work downtown. He’s NCI-certified (National Comfort Institute) for air balancing and holds a DC Master HVAC Mechanic license. Marcus specializes in the jobs other companies walk away from: collapsed flex duct in crawl spaces, squirrel damage in row house attics in Logan Circle, and the creative routing decisions made by 1920s builders in Mount Pleasant that make no sense on paper. He collects vintage DC go-go records and has strong opinions about which carryout has the best mumbo sauce. He’s usually right about both the ductwork and the mumbo sauce.
Darren K., Service Coordinator
Darren’s the voice you hear when you call (240) 363-3380. He schedules every appointment, pulls permit history when we’re working in historic districts like Georgetown or LeDroit Park, and maintains our photo record archive. Before CleanRun, he spent four years as a dispatcher for a fire suppression company, so he’s unusually calm when someone calls panicking about a dryer vent fire hazard. He’s the one who makes sure your written estimate and scope of work are in your inbox before Marcus or I pack the van. Darren’s from Takoma Park originally and still won’t cross the river for lunch unless it’s a serious occasion.
Jin S., Apprentice Technician
Jin came to us in 2022 through a program with the Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington. She’s working toward her EPA 608 certification and already runs the Rotobrush contact cleaning system for standard residential duct runs (the individual passages from your plenum to each room register) with more precision than I had at year five. Jin’s detail-oriented in a way that matters: she noticed that a batch of Guardsman access panels we’d received had a manufacturing defect in the latch mechanism before we installed a single one. She plays goalie for a rec league in Adams Morgan and has the bruises to prove it.

Haven Standard Clause 5: Documented Photo Record. Jin or Marcus photographs inside every duct run before and after. You receive these as part of your job record, not as an upsell. Since 2013, we’ve delivered these on every single visit.
Haven Standard Clause 7: 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the work isn’t right, we make it right. In writing. Not subject to manager approval because the manager is usually the person who did the work.
